THE SELF-SUFFICIENT TOWER

The fascinating skyscraper proposed by Vahan Misakyan for the city of Yerevan in Armenia consists of an assembly of structural geodesics that forms three towers connected by habitable bridges at the top and bottom. It is designed to accommodate various functions such as hotel services, offices, residential homes etc. The structure is designed with the latest green technologies. An 'intelligent' skin controls, through mechanical openings, the amount light entering the structures as well as the natural ventilation. The skin is also equipped with rain water collection systems, photovoltaic cells and wind turbines.
